Productive Day

We left Back Point this morning and sailed north a short distance to Staniel Cay. After anchoring, we dinghied ashore to Staniel Cay Yacht Club where George picked up the watermaker parts he had ordered earlier this week. Next we dinghied over to Isles General Store to buy small o-rings. While we were there I looked at their produce section and found some oranges that looked good. They apologized for the lack of produce and said the supply boat had just come in—it was just leaving as were coming in—and they would have more food on the shelves in about an hour. We had planned to move on to another anchorage, though, so we didn’t wait. We were pleased to have accomplished as much as we did and hope that the parts and/or o-rings fix the problems with the watermaker.

After returning to Breeze On we sailed south about 15 miles to Oven Rock anchorage. Tomorrow morning we will go out to Exuma Sound and sail another 15 miles south to Lee Stocking Island. While we are there George will work once again on the watermaker and then fill the water tank. George found out that he will still be able to use the watermaker even if he isn’t able to fix the problem of too much air in the prefilter. As long as there is some water in the prefilter it is safe to use the watermaker.

Sunset from Oven Rock.

Our package of watermaker parts.

Our purchases from Isles General Store. The oranges were $2 each. The o-rings were $3 each. That’s ok. We are just grateful to have them.
