This is the time of year we are usually packing up for our trip to the Bahamas. However, this year we are doing something different—we are taking the winter off. We decided to skip the trip to the Bahamas and sail to Maine next summer instead. Sailing to Maine is a trip we have wanted to take since we started sailing Breeze On. We had assumed we would do it after we stopped sailing to the Bahamas. Since I like to spend at least half the year at home there wouldn’t be time to sail to Maine as long as we continued sailing to the Bahamas. It recently occurred to us that we should make the trip to Maine while we are still physically able to do it. Hence, take the winter of 2026 off and sail to Maine the summer of 2027. After that, who knows? We recently took advantage of the opportunity to take Breeze On to Washington, DC.
