I learned a few years ago that it was important for me to pace myself when arriving in the Bahamas after several days of inadequate sleep. Although we have numerous chores to complete, they don’t all have to be done in a day. Yesterday we washed, dried, and stowed the enclosure panels. It was 85 degrees when we arrived and we wanted all of the air circulation we could get in the cockpit. Today I washed the cockpit cushions—they got splashed with a little salt water when we had a panel open—as well as made kefir and helped George transition the dinghy from offshore mode to Bahamas mode. After that we had just enough energy left to take a brief walk and call it a day.
We are here very early in the season. Breeze On is the only boat here, aside from a few local boats on another dock.
While we were out on our walk a helpful resident gave us directions to the beach. He mentioned a sign at the end of a trail but he couldn’t remember exactly what it said. This is it.
The beach at the end of the short trail.
