Last Day in Hope Town

Today was our last day in Hope Town before we move on. As always, we plan our moves around the wind and sea forecasts. After we arrived in the Bahamas we resumed our daily habit of weather planning—we review Chris Parker’s weather email, and combine it with our planned destinations.

That planning helped us decide to laundry again today even though it has been just a week since we last did laundry. While we are in the Bahamas we usually aim to do laundry every other week. However, there are no laundry facilities in our next two destinations—excluding those in a marina. The forecast calls for some potentially bad weather within the next week or two so we don’t know when we will next be near a laundromat. Doing our laundry today gives us more flexibility. While I waited for the laundry George came back to Breeze On and investigated the source of the water in the bilge. He thinks he may have found it. He believes it is coming from either the sink or shower drains in the aft head. He tightened hose clamps for those drains and we will see if that stops the leak.

This afternoon we took another walk through town then ate our late lunch at Cap’n Jack’s. Yes, that is two days in a row of eating out—it is not like us—but we really like both restaurants. If all goes as planned we will eat out again tomorrow in Little Harbour.

This floating bar and grill came into the harbor last evening and picked up a mooring ball. Unfortunately, it is closed.

  1. Eating out is a good reward for doing all that laundry. Love the pink boat.
