Today we went snorkeling off of a nearby small beach. We saw two lobsters, but they were hiding and did not show up in the photos. The coral heads were small and unremarkable, but the water was clear and warm.
I am including a screenshot of our location on Google Maps to show you just how far south we have traveled. This is as far south as we will go.
There is a spotted moray eel hiding in the shadows in the center of the photo.
Lace coral.
If you don’t follow our location you may not have a sense of where we are. We are quite far south in the Bahamas. We stayed in West End, Grand Bahama which is just to the right of the last “i” in Miami.
We can’t resist taking a picture from this lookout every year. Breeze On is the furthest to the right.
Interesting rock formation at the beach.
Yesterday we went for a another hike across the island to the Atlantic side. Later on we went to the usual gathering at the tiki hut, then most of us went back to our boats while the younger crowd gathered for a cookout. Even though it was New Year’s Eve we had no desire to stay up late.
