Boom

This morning George, with the help of Matt from Runaway, cleaned and greased the forward end of the furling boom. As a bonus, they also managed to get the larger washer inserted to reduce the excess lateral play in the boom. We are sooooo happy!  Neither job was easy and we are so appreciative of Matt’s help.

While they were working I took a walk with four other friends from the anchorage. We walked over to the other side of the island and spent quite a while looking for sea beans. I didn’t find anything other than heart beans—and I have several already—but I was given a star nut palm bean found by someone else. It has the characteristic three holes which look like a face with a mouth saying “oooooooh.”

Yesterday I mixed up some Concrobium and put it on some window shades that had mildewed. I left it on for 24 hours and rinsed it off this morning. It does a remarkable job removing mildew and keeping it from returning. Last summer I used it on the bimini zippers and they are still looking good.
