Poison Point

Our few days at the Poison Point anchorage have been quite pleasant. While anchored here George added some more lubrication to the furling line sheaves. We dinghied around and were unable to find any promising snorkeling spots even though the water is crystal clear here, so we chose to go for walks instead. We pulled the dinghy onto a small beach and walked along a road lined with casuarina trees. The wind made a lovely sound blowing through the needles. As we walked along it became clear the the road was yet another Bahamian development that was started and never finished. It even included the beginnings of a marina. A couple we had met at the laundromat told us a story of meeting some angry bulls along the road so we were on the lookout. Fortunately, we saw only skittish goats - lots of them.

The anchorage was well-protected from the S winds and we plan to keep it in mind for the future.

Yesterday afternoon we went over to Azzurra 2.0 for tacos and Mexican Train with our good friends Dawn and Ray. In the evening we went ashore for a bonfire organized by other cruisers in the anchorage.
