Happy New Year

In the late afternoon we dinghied about 3/4 mile over to Tiny's Hurricane Hole for dinner and a New Year's Eve celebration. Tiny's is a new place with cottages and a restaurant with outdoor tables. It is owned by a young couple and is very nice. We had wanted to go there for dinner the night before but we didn't have the courage to fight the strong NW winds, chop and occasional squalls. By yesterday afternoon the winds were from the east and we set out in Chuggernaut. Getting into and out of Tiny's by dinghy was a challenge. It is very shallow and the propeller hit rock before we got anywhere near shore.
We hear that Jason and Michelle plan to build a dinghy dock and that will be a nice addition. We had a fun time there with Jean and Michael and other couples that we met. The food was very good and there was a nice fireworks display after dark. Getting out in the dinghy was even harder than getting in. George finally stood on a ledge next to a deep channel, turned the motor on, shoved off and jumped in. Yikes! It was a wild, wet ride back to Breeze On. We were both grateful we couldn't see the waves before we crashed into them. All in all it was a memorable way to ring out the old and ring in the new.
