Bitter Guana Cay

This has been a lovely anchorage for NE to E winds. We will most likely leave here tomorrow when the winds are forecast to shift more to the south. This morning we dinghied 2 1/2 miles north to Staniel Cay in an effort to find lettuce. We thought it would be quicker and easier to take the dinghy rather than Breeze On because we can take a shortcut through shallow water in the dinghy. We decided to try stopping at Isles General Store which is closer to the southern end of Staniel Cay. We had heard it was a nice store but didn’t realize they sold fresh vegetables. It was indeed a very nice store with the added bonus of a nice dinghy dock. We bought two bags of lettuce and even some fresh grapes. What a treat!
Once we were back on board Breeze On, George used the water maker after installing the new part he had shipped over. It seemed to solve the fluctuating pressure problem. Later in the day we went to the beach to check out the endangered Bahamian iguanas. They are quite friendly and come right to the dinghy as you land (which did freak me out a bit.) I believe they are frequently fed by the many visiting tour boats.

They have a nice dinghy dock making the stop quite convenient.

Lettuce!!

New check valve solved the problem we were having with the water maker.

Friendly iguana came to greet me as soon as I stepped out of the dinghy

Pretty cliff at the end of the beach.
