Hog Cay 12/14-12/15/25

There was quite a crowd at the tiki hut the other night. Meeting other cruisers there is one of the things we love about this anchorage. Another thing is how easy it is to get to shore, even in windy conditions. We are able to anchor relatively close to shore so there is not a lot of wind chop between our boat and the beach.

Good crowd at the tiki hut.

George noticed this sea turtle swimming under our boat. It is the biggest one we have ever seen—it has to be at least 3’ in diameter.

We could actually hear it exhaling when it came up for air.

Today was  laundry day. In addition to clothes and towels, we washed the salty cockpit cushion covers.

I also made sauerkraut. I use a small hand-held mandolin to shred the cabbage then sprinkle salt on the shredded
cabbage. After it sits for about 15 minutes I squeeze it to form the brine.

Then I pack it is a jar with a glass weight and lid that allows gas to escape. I let it ferment for at least five days.

Beautiful double rainbow this evening as we were at the tiki hut.

    1. Thank you, Jan. Yes, we have had fewer problems this year (knock on wood) which makes it much more enjoyable. I hope all is well with you, Dan, and your family. ❤️
