George and I have always been the early to bed, early to rise types. When we are living on the boat it gets even earlier. By 9 pm last night—also known as cruisers’ midnight—we wished each other a happy New Year and turned the lights out shortly after that. Earlier in the day we took a 5 mile walk down and back Indian Hole Point Road with Dee and Ron. We talked about going out with them and Jeannie and Brad but we couldn’t find any place that would be open in the afternoon.

Today we made two trips to Long Island Petroleum for diesel and dinghy gas, then took another long walk to the east side of the island. We tried to reschedule our afternoon gathering at a restaurant but, once again, they didn’t seem to be open.
We are studying the weather and trying to decide how long we will stay here and where we will go next. Not an easy task with the numerous cold fronts forecast for the foreseeable future.
