Little Choptank

Our latest outing on Breeze On was a trip to the Little Choptank. Our original plan was to leave on Sunday and return on Friday, but we decided to return on Wednesday to avoid bad forecasts for Thursday and Friday. We had a nice sail on Sunday in cloudy and cool conditions and anchored off of Town Point. Monday started out cloudy and cool but cleared enough later on to become a delightful afternoon. George hooked our TRX system on the mast and we both used it for a bit of exercise. A friend gave it to us when we first started going to the Bahamas. We took it with us but never tried it. I think I was embarrassed by the thought of other people watching me exercise. I have since watched other people exercise on the foredecks and realized I admire them for their efforts. The foredeck provides a nice environment for exercise. We had watched a YouTube video to learn how to use the system. It gives a surprisingly good workout that I can feel the next day. When we are at home we hook it up to a closed door to use it. We used to do our strength training exercise at the YMCA but that has been closed due to the pandemic. The Y has started holding a few outdoor classes but we are choosing to exercise at home.
After two nights at Town Point we moved up the river a few miles to Cherry Island Cove. We had intended to tuck into the small anchorage at Phillips Creek but as we were entering the very narrow entrance we saw that another boat was already there. We were happy at Cherry Island Cove, though, where we watched two bald eagles and even saw a large pod of dolphins.
The pandemic has triggered a lot of emotions in me: sadness, anger, fear, frustration, hopelessness, and uncertainty. I sometimes cycle through them quickly. In addition to the negative emotions I have also felt intense gratitude that we are both still healthy, our loved ones are healthy, and we are fortunate enough to do what we love to do on Breeze On with each other.
Getting some exercise with the TRX.
