After a leisurely breakfast yesterday morning we pulled up the anchor and left Ten Bay to make our way to Rock Sound. We motor sailed most of the 20 miles in light winds. After dropping the anchor in Rock Sound we quickly put the dinghy in the water so that we could go ashore and eat a late lunch at Sammy’s. Just as we were finishing attaching the outboard, Matt and Marty from Runaway motored over and said they were meeting Kris and Craig from Tilt at Sammy’s. We joined them there and had a great time. George and I were the only ones to order food and it was just as delicious as I remembered. After we returned to Breeze On we grabbed two jerry cans and took them to Dingle’s for diesel. Dingle’s has made repairs and added two nice ladders to a nearby dock. It was a very easy walk across the street with the full cans. Last evening there were two parties with loud music going strong on shore. We were right in the middle of them so we had stereophonic competing songs.

This morning we moved 1.5 miles across the sound in preparation for the west wind we are expecting tonight. The major winter storm that is creating havoc in the US will be affecting the Bahamas by dropping the temperatures a few degrees, changing the wind direction, and increasing the wind speed somewhat. We dinghied to shore after we anchored just for the chance to walk around. The sound may become too choppy to dinghy across the 1.5 miles to town so we may be stuck on the boat for a few days. There is a beach on this side of the sound that I am hoping we may be able to visit in the next few days.
